The Pörner scope of services includes licensing, pilot tests, basic engineering, supply of core components as well as commissioning support and start-up. The plant is designed for the production of road paving bitumen VG-10 to VG-40 with a capacity of 100,000 MTA. Suitable feedstock components are refinery intermediate products VR and HVGO from different crudes. The plant shall be provided with the most advanced technology for off-gas treatment and heat recovery and thus fulfills all requirements as to energy efficiency and environmental safety. The start-up is scheduled for 2014.

This 46^th licensing underlines the Pörner Group’s world market leadership in bitumen oxidation technology. Even now, 50% of India’s bitumen production is made in Biturox^® plants.

To meet international standards, investment is being done in eco-friendly and modern technologies for Barauni Refinery also, situated around 100 km east of Patna.

The Pörner Group looks forward to continuing the cooperation with IOCL. The projected Biturox^® plant in Barauni is already the third license granted to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. after Gujarat Refinery in 2001 and Mathura Refinery in 2010. It is the 12^th of license granting in Southern Asia.
