More than 240 people of 32 countries attended the Argus Africa Bitumen Conference at Cape Town in February 2014. Among them several clients of the Pörner Group.

At its fair stand the Pörner Group presented Biturox^®, the technology for bitumen production as well as the innovative Pörner Bitumen Packing System for storing, transport and marketing of bitumen in cold condition.

The conference topic was: “Opportunities and challenges for the African Market in the coming years”. Africa needs a solid road network for economic development. So bitumen is of essential importance. But there are supply bottlenecks again and again because of South African refineries low production capacity and the lack of storage tanks for bitumen to be imported.

Thus the Pörner Bitumen Packing System is especially suitable for Africa. It enables to transport and provide bitumen at any location to moderate prices.

During the breaks, you got acquainted with existing clients, made new contacts with interested participants and started to create new ideas for a better future for Africa.
